I am just bursting with excitement! As many of you know I am a demonstrator for Fiskars and I have been working on setting up some demonstrations at my lss's for the holidays. I called one of the craft stores in my area which is not an lss and spoke with them about doing a demo, but they weren't interested since the owner doesn't want to have to pay for someone to demo. As I talked with this person (not the owner) she told me that they are looking for teachers and asked if I'd be willing to teach classes. It is independant of the store but they handle the sign-up's and money until the class is taught. I decide the project, bring in a sample for them to display and make up the supply list. I even decide on the class fee and get the money of all those who sign up with no additional fees that I have to pay. The only requirement is that my supply list is everything that is purchased at the store. She said that I will be able to also do more classes in the future. My mind is just racing with all kinds of thoughts of what to do and what to charge, etc. I just can't believe she even asked me to teach.
I can't help but laugh because my personal goals for this year were to get published and next year make it onto a design team. I hadn't even set a goal of teaching in my plans. I have already accomplished all of these. Wonder what's in store for next year. lol
