Alrighty ladies! I will be able to order from copic. Here is my problem. It takes 45 days to receive an order. The order minimums have dropped enough that it's feasible to do this. I'm restricted on the minimum amount I can sell them for so discounts on these won't be nearly as good but.............
Should I set these up for pre-order? If I do it, how would you most prefer to buy them? Individually? In sets? Which sets? 36 or 72? Help me please!

Will you be selling Copic Originals?

If so I will preorder!

I would recommend selling them individually, bringing in a range at a time. That is what we did at my store and it worked out really well. She brought in 25 or so the first time, 40 the next etc.

Another option to sell four sets of 12 that are dupes of the Stampin Up colors, plus a neutral and in color seriers. But 12 at a time is a bigger investment for people. Why I think individually is the way to go, with a discount for people who buy 6 or more at a time.

Barb, I dont have any Copics but I have been wanting some so I will put a pre-order in for sure !

Suzy , What difference is there from the originals,CIAO & Sketch and I hope this is not too much to ask but could you tell a bit about them and how best to use them.

I personally collect the Sketch markers since I like the shape and the brush tips.

Depending on how many types of pen you are thinking to carry, you might want to do a poll to see what most people are using.

Any ideas on the price for the store?!
So are your 20% and DT discounts going to apply?!

As for colors, personally I add colors I don't have currently. I'm still using up my Studio2 pens in conjunction with my Copics, so I'm hit and miss with what I buy, so I'd prefer the option of individual pens.

YAY! What a fun addition to the store!!!

I know I saw a list somewhere where the SU! colors were picked out.

I can't stop the 20% discounts on only one product, they apply to all so that will stay, but the dt discount won't be available. However 20% is better than no percent!

It is really personal preference. I chose the originals because they contain the largest amount of ink so they will last the longest. I like to color a lot. For example - this (http://blog.papermonkey.org/index/2008/09/great-balls-of.html) card took many many layers of ink and hours of work lol. They are more expensive but actually the best value for the money.

I like the shape - they are square so don't roll off the table.

They can be used for airbrushing, and also will take almost any size nib so I can switch out sizes. I like the shape the most - one end has a thick chisel, the other end is very fine for detail work. I was able to use the thin line to color these BERY thin lines on the gymnast's shirt on this (http://blog.papermonkey.org/index/2008/09/super-simple-th.html) card.

There is definately a learning curve. I am slowly getting better with them. When I first got them I made a post here (http://blog.papermonkey.org/index/2008/03/copics-card-tip.html) that tells all about them. Copics teach to color with 3 shades - one to highlight, one for shading, and a middle base color. I do this now that I have a lot of them, but really you can work with them like any other marker too.

There are over 300 colors - not all of them are available in the original. I have never needed to branch out into Sketch yet with what I have.

I believe Marianne said the Copic Sketch had *at least* a 3 year shelf-life. They don't have as much ink in them as an original...but more than the Ciao.

Originals use 3-4cc's per fill (8-10 fills per bottle)
Sketch use 2-3cc's per fill (10-12 fills per bottle)
Ciao use 2 cc's per fill (12 fills per bottle)

Barb if you can bring in the airbrush system (the $23 or $25 dollar one, not the $$ air can) and the colorless blender refill, as well as the needle to use when refilling that would be awesome.

The colorless blender is used SO much people will run out of it first. I know I need a refill lol.

I don't have any and have been wanting some for awhile. My friends seem to prefer the sketch style, but I have no experience with them. Have never even held them in my hand.

I would pre order too, but gotta check my funds first. :(

Ok, during lunch today I finally mozied on down to the Blick store over here so I could see / touch in person. I handled both of them, and I really do like the sketch type marker better. It feels easier in my hand, and the nib width/size seems more manageable for me.

I did bring my own note pad so I tried a few colors to see, and now I understand why everyone is in love with them. There are no demarkation lines when you over lap layers (I don't know if that's the right way to describe).

I honestly was overwhelmed by the colors. I have no idea where I'd even want to start! Do I get the SU colors?? even though I have a full set of SU markers already? lol..thank goodness I sold off my ZIG markers loooong time ago!

I did see the sets too, and again, I have no idea where to even start.

I think if I did, I'd start with a few individually. But I'd like to get a color, then the color lighter and darker than it. I believe thats what I should do right??

I tried to look for the blender pen to try, but there was none out .

I also saw all sorts of spray bottles, nozzles with hose, etc. etc. etc...wow!! Where is the blinkie going bonkers??

I'm meeting with the copic lady next wednesday so as soon as I choose what to buy I'll put them up as a pre-order! Yipee!

I don't know anything about them, but if I were to buy I would by a set.

The sets are pretty expensive. The 12 piece set of copic and sketch markers is $71.40, the 36 piece set is 214.20 and the 72 piece set is 428.40 which is why I think more people buy the singles to start out with anyway. The Ciao markers are less but they also have less ink in them.

I don't have copics but have heard a lot of good about them and have seen them at my lss. I like them, but the price is kind of scary. :) My lss had a class for $12 on using them, but it would have cost me $75 (and that was with a class discount) to buy the markers.

I just ordered some of the prisma marker sets too. It's the 12 piece set and a few singles that my distributor had. So we'll have a choice.

I just have a few copics that were given to me as a gift (in a swap). I have not quite got the hang of them yet but I am still learning. Coloring for me comes easier in the form of paint...so this is just my own silly struggle.
