Just the night before last night I sat and told Kevin and Josh I didn't think I'd ever make a dt. It was a night where I was really discouraged with things. I am a guest designer for Eye-Let's Etc. in December which I'm very excited about so until then I thought I'd purchase some things I've been looking at from them. There are no stores in my area that carry their products and their site says to email them if that's the case so I did. The owner called me yesterday and as we talked she asked how I found out about them and I told her that I had applied for their dt and didn't make it, but was a guest dt for Dec. She looked at her lists from the person who handles all of the dt's and guest dt's and said I wasn't on it and it was a good thing I contacted her or I wouldn't have gotten a kit. She asked if I had any correspondence with this person and I forwarded the email that I had asking me to be the guest. She said that she was going to correct that right then and there and made me a dt member! As we talked she asked me if I was interested in working for her at an upcoming trades convention, but I had to turn it down since it would be a 600 miles (one way) and 10 hour drive for me and there isn't an airport to fly into which is ok, because I don't fly anyways. Considering what it would cost for gas, food and lodging we wouldn't be able to swing it anyways, but I thought it was really neat that she asked me. I also found out that she comes to my homestate often because she has family here so she is familiar with my area.
I am just so excited about this and Kevin is making me eat my words. Lol. My family always says I don't do things normally and I guess that's the truth with this, too. I applied and didn't get the position, I email to order and end up with a dt position. :)
