Do you just start from scratch (cardstock?) Or do you use a base of some kind? I know some people buy the little cards & cover them.
I use cardstock myself.

I use white/cream cardstock that I cut myself. I feel it makes my colored/designer cardstocks last longer. I also don't like writing on colored cardstocks.

ditto to what Michelle said Ü I've been doing it this way for over a year.
I buy a ream of white cardstock from Wal-mart. I cut several card "bases" at a time and have them ready to use for my card "fronts". I design my fronts as needed and like adhering the to the card base for the reason Michelle said as well as because I like to sew, pierce, use brads, etc and by mounting to my card base, it hides all the stuff on the back of the card front.
Tip: score your 8.5 x 11 cardstock in half and then cut in half the opposite way. This way you only have to score once for two cards.

75% of the time, I use a card base. The rest of the time, I use colored cs. If I use colored cs, then I make sure that I embellish the inside with a much lighter cs (usually white or ivory) so that it's easy to see the message written inside.

I have blank cards that I use sometimes. I usually just cut a piece of cardstock to size that I need to make a card and go from there. I have a heavy duty paper cutter that I can use to cut several sheets at a time so it goes a little bit faster when I'm in a time crunch.

I pretty much start from scratch. I have used some prefolded cards before but only like once or twice.
