I have tons of ribbon and want more styles! Lets do a ribbon swap, 2 yards of each ribbon, 5 different ribbons.
Amount: Please send 5 different ribbons for a total of 10 yards. This way we'll have a bunch of new ribbon to use! Each person will receive 1 of each of the ribbons.
Vendor requirements: NVR
Due Date: July 30th. Sign up deadline will be July 5th.
Swap Return: I will swap out the stuff within 3 days
Mailing Instructions: Please place your swap in a baggie or plastic wrap, for waterproof purposes. Please include a piece of paper with your name, EI screen name, and swap name. Please also include as much postage as it took to send, plus one extra stamp just in case. Unused postage will be returned. Everyone is welcome. We'll add as many spots as we need but we'll start with 5!

I'm thinking on this one...I have to see if I have enough ribbon. I don't want to send tons of ribbon that everyone would already have...Must hunt down "cool" ribbon ya know. I will let ya know tomorrow.
Thanks Barb for stepping up and hostessing. I was coming back to post a swap myself if no one else had...may still do one in a few weeks.

I want to do it.
I have an idea. Can you randomly swap us and pm us our swap friend and then we mail the ribbon directly to them...that way we only pay one postage.
What do you think.

uh, this is my first swap....so what are we doing?! Only trading with one person?! Just let me know what I'm supposed to do so I don't mess this up!! LOL!
Usually you send your swap to the hostess with enough for everyone but swapping with one person might be the way to go. What do you think? Usually you would have to do 2 yards of each ribbon for all the people, but swapping with one person will not use as much of your ribbon but you also won't get as much back, only the 1 amount that you sent.

I don't mind what we do...but if you're asking me if I want 9 ribbons or 1 I'd say 9!!:pig:
Cute piggie Michelle! Yep, I know, but to get ya gotta give too. We may break it up into 2 groups if we get one more person to do it, (do we have 9?) then you would only have to send to 5 and get 5 unless you all want to do the one on one thing.

I prefer to do it how it was first stated so that we get a selection of different ribbons. unless I misunderstood when I signed up, that was the purpose of this swap.

We can decide how much ribbon to send.
Usually no less than 10 but you could inlcude more if you would like.
We did it like that on another swap and it worked, or we can all send some ribbon in and you divide it up. Whatever works the best.

Yes, you understood correctly. Either way I would not send you 10 pieces of same ribbon, I would send you 10 different ones :)

Barb, since you are doing the swap, you should decide how we should do it. I was just trying to save on postage :rolleyes:
I say to do it the way it was first presented. Now my question is, should we do it in two groups or one big one? I'm learning ladies!

I just got back home and I am confused. Maybe it is from traveling. So we have 9 people. So I will need to send Barb 2 yards of 9 different ribbons? Or would it be 2 yards of 8 different ribbon not counting myself?
Anyway, once something is decided then I'll start cutting up my ribbon.

Oh....ddobson...I get it finally!! You're saying that if you sent to me I'd get 10 different ribbons from you and I'd send 10 to the next person....
that makes sense to me!! It just saves the postage to barb and out again. I'm slow....but I catch on eventually!!

each person will send a total of 10 yards, 2 yards of each of 5 different ribbons. I will get all the ribbon and send each person back a total of 10 yards of new ribbon. You won't get your own back.
If we do it where each person sent 10 yards for each person in the list then that would be 100 yards of ribbon! If we were to split the groups that would be 50 yards of ribbon. debbiedee, did you think we were doing 50 yards? I'm sorry...... I'm not to good at this!

OK, one yard is 3 feet so for two yards I need to send 6 feet of ribbon times 5 (different ones). That seems like a ton of ribbon. I don't have 2 yards of any ribbon in my stash :eek: I really don't want to go out and buy that much ribbon.
Sorry if I am being difficult.
Now that I am thinking about it I might have a big stash of 5 different ones. I visited Offray outlet store in Hagerstown, PA and I got a bag full of ribbon for $1.00

I'm glad to hear that. I had so much trouble getting the girl to understand how much postage I needed. I had to explain it to her 4 times and then to another person who finally understood. I am so relieved it made it to you.

Hey girls-
The plan was to send my ribbon out last week(ish)...plan failed so it's going out Monday.
Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th!
You know I seem to have an overload of ribbon that I didn't even realize existed! Swaps like this are so much fun...'specially when you find treasure in your own supplies.
LOL. After reading Tracy's post I remembered the ribbon swap and then wondered why I bought 3 spools of ribbon today when I'm going to be getting it from the swap. That was sure a duh moment for me. Oh well, guess you never have enough ribbon do you and I only paid $1 a spool for it.

....just me.....sitting here dreaming of ribbon!!!!
I'm building myself some ribbon rings to store my loose ribbon....and I just can't wait to add to my collection!! So far I've got $0.99 invested in my little project, but I need some more rings.....gotta have a ring for every color of the rainbow and then some, don't I?! LOL! :eek:

Got my ribbon today! Thanks everyone! There's a lot of really great pieces there. I can't wait to use it all! The flowers were a nice surprise. Thanks for those. I've been running low on those so they are really helpful.
